Nothing beats the thrill of a jump, or the wind against your face as you race down a mountain side. Living in Logan means some pretty decent mountain biking, so Junior Outdoor Product Design student Fischer Oplin recommends Giant Reign 2018 mountain bike to hit the trails this season.
“It is one of the nicest things I own,” Oplin said. “It’s really good on the descent, also rips on the uphills. It’s very good for jumping and has never let me down. I would recommend this bike to people who are into mountain biking. It is a little steep on price for a beginner mountain bike, but it is very good for more technical trails and jumps.”
According to giant-bicycles.com, the 2018 Reign mountain bike’s aluminium frameset and 27.5 wheels provides control on aggressive terrain. The trunnion mount makes the bike’s center of gravity lower improving agility. This bike comes as the Reign SX for around $4080 and the Reign 2 for around $2,755 on giant-bicycles.com. The difference between the two bikes is the suspension system. If you are looking for a climbing bike the Reign SX is for you, while if you want to run downhill tracks the Reign 2 will do great.
“I knew I really like this bike when I first hopped on it, it was love at first ride,” Oplin said. “I had never ridden anything so nice and smooth. I never wanted to stop riding.”
